Fleas and Ticks are in season and it’s our four legged family members that suffer from these little critters. Fleas and ticks are external parasites that can cause extreme discomfort and even serious illnesses to your pets and even humans, such as Lyme Disease. Luckily, fleas and ticks are easily prevented with the use of easy to administer prevention products. These products range from spot-on and spray treatments to collars. Checking For Ticks After county walks you should check your pet in the following areas for ticks.
Ticks need to be removed slowly and carefully to ensure that the whole tick is removed. We recommend the use of a ‘Tick Remover’. These can be purchased online or from pet suppliers and vary in cost from £2.50 to £10. If you do not feel comfortable removing ticks from your pet, we recommend that you contact your local vet for advice.
